MADRID: Spain’s Popular Party was set to narrowly win Sunday’s national elections, but without the majority needed to topple the coalition government of Socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. With 90 percent of the votes counted, the Popular Party was on course to win 136 of the 350 seats in the Chamber of Deputies, the lower house of Spain’s parliament. Sánchez’s Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party was on the verge of 122 seats, two more than in the outgoing legislature.
