BRUSSELS (Reuters) – European Union negotiators on Friday hammered out a plan to boost munitions production in the bloc as part of a campaign to arm Ukraine and restock its depleted arsenals. The $545m (€500m) Ammunition Production Support Act – or ASAP – aims to ramp up the manufacture of artillery shells and rockets. “This is further evidence of the EU’s unwavering commitment to support Ukraine,” said Margarita Robles, Spain’s defense minister, who currently holds the EU’s rotating presidency.
