The Pentagon said on Monday that the United States will deploy a destroyer along with F-35 and F-16 warplanes in the Middle East to deter Iran from seizing ships in the Gulf. This step comes after the Iranian Navy attempted to seize two commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman earlier this month, in an incident that opened fire on one of the commercial ships.
