Abu Dhabi: The Rabi-ul-Awal moon is likely to be sighted in the UAE on September 16, while the National Astronomical Institute has also predicted the dates of the 1st of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr.

According to Arab media, the Astronomical Society of the United Arab Emirates has expressed the possibility that the Rabi-ul-Awal moon is likely to be seen on September 16. Astronomers also announced the probable dates of Ramadan and Eid in the UAE.

Chairman of the Emirate Astronomical Board of Directors, Ibrahim Al Joron, said that the month of Ramadan is likely to start in the second week of March next year and Eid al-Fitr will be on April 10.

However, the United Arab Emirates Astronomical Society also says that the dates of Ramadan and Eid can be finalized only after the moon is sighted in these months.

Generally, the moon is visible in Pakistan the day after it appears in Arab countries.
