Islamabad:

At least three people were killed in a bomb blast in the Afghan capital on Tuesday, according to an official.

“Today at around 3:50 pm, a landmine exploded on the road behind a Mercedes car in the Alokhilo area of ​​Kabul’s 16th district. Unfortunately, 3 civilians were martyred and 4 others were injured,” Khalid Zadran, a a spokesman for the Kabul security department run by the interim Taliban administration wrote on Twitter.

Zadran said that security forces have arrested a suspect during a search operation in the area.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

The latest blast came after at least 25 people were killed or injured in an explosion in District 6, or PD6, in Kabul late Saturday night.

The UN mission in Afghanistan later said the blast targeted the ethnic Hazara community in the Dasht-e-Barchi area west of the capital.

The Hazaras are one of the major ethnic groups of Afghanistan who are also present in neighboring Pakistan and Iran.
