It was informed in the meeting that besides increasing the number of PCOs in prisons, providing facility of video and international calls for the prisoners, besides handing over the management of prison hospitals to the health department, LEDs with cables in the barracks to the prisoners. In the meeting presided over by the Caretaker Chief Minister, it was decided to abolish the outdated system of jail canteen and it was proposed to open a physical canteen, a big store chain or a utility store in every jail and to keep a prisoner on parole on the death of a loved one. It was also decided to give the authority to the Superintendent of Jail.

Adviser to the Prime Minister Ahad Cheema participated in the meeting through video link and gave suggestions regarding the provision of basic facilities to the prisoners and prison reforms.
