A rescue dog search continues after a successful operation to find missing children alive in Colombia.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro said that 4 children who were missing as a result of the plane crash in the Colombian jungle have been found alive.

On May 1, the plane crashed between Araraquara in the Amazonas province and the city of San Jose del Govier in the Govier province. The pilot made a mayday call reporting engine trouble and lost contact with the aircraft shortly after.

As a result of the accident, three people including the pilot and the children’s mother were killed and their bodies were found inside the plane.

Four children, ages 13, 9 and 4, as well as a now 12-month-old baby survived the crash and survived in the wild for 40 days.

After four indigenous children who went missing in Colombia last week were discovered alive, the search has turned to another disappearance.
