Riyadh: An Iraqi citizen who came to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj suddenly fell ill, after which Saudi doctors treated him and saved his life.

According to Urdu News, the doctors of the King Abdullah Medical City of Makkah in Saudi Arabia saved the life of an elderly Iraqi Hajj pilgrim who suffered from a serious heart condition.

The spokesperson of King Abdullah Medical City, Hatim Al Masoudi, says that the Iraqi pilgrim was brought from Al Noor Specialist Hospital, and treatment was started by contacting the hotline immediately.

Hatim Al Masoudi said that the Iraqi pilgrim was taken directly from the emergency ward to the catheterization room and underwent a catheterization, which revealed that one of the coronary arteries was blocked by up to 95 percent.

Doctors performed a catheterization to open the artery and put in a stent, the Iraqi pilgrim was kept in the intensive care unit for two days and was discharged from the hospital.

The spokesman said that the health of the Iraqi Hajj pilgrims is now satisfactory and they will be able to perform the Hajj rituals with satisfaction.

The Iraqi Hajj pilgrim thanked the Saudi health staff and the health staff for the arrangements in Makkah hospitals, saying that if timely treatment was not available, he could have missed the performance of Hajj.
