Riyadh: The President of South Korea arrived in Saudi Arabia and discussed the situation in Gaza, including trade and economic cooperation, in a meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

According to Arab media, a joint statement was issued after the meeting between Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and South Korean President Yoon Seok-yul in Riyadh.

The statement said that the two leaders discussed the latest situation in the Middle East, including Gaza, and international developments, as well as ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and trade relations.

Both leaders expressed concern over the targeting of civilians in Gaza and stressed the importance of protecting civilians in accordance with international humanitarian law.

According to the statement, the two leaders also agreed to work with the international community to provide immediate and unhindered humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza.

In the meeting, the two leaders said that there is a need to intensify efforts to prevent the war from escalating further. A political solution to the Palestinian issue must be found and without a two-state solution, lasting peace in Palestine is not possible.

On this occasion, South Korea appreciated the efforts of the Saudi leadership in this regard, including the Arab peace initiative.
