Michigan: In the case of sexual assault on a 14-year-old girl in the United States, the fate of the prisoner who was released after 35 years of innocent imprisonment woke up and the possibility of receiving 1.75 million dollars as compensation for serving such a sentence without a guilty party arose.

According to the American Broadcasting Corporation, a citizen in Michigan was released after 35 years in prison after learning that he was wrongfully convicted.

Prisoner Louis Wright was fortunate that the innovation of DNA testing saved him from further punishment for his wrongful conviction. Louis Wright was convicted in 1988, which has now been overturned by a judge.

The public prosecutor told the court that new DNA tests proved that Louis Wright was not the one who sexually assaulted the girl, but that a false confession had been taken from him, even though he had denied it.

When the girl was sexually assaulted in 1988, it was Louis Wright’s only fault that he was spotted in the neighborhood and spotted by an on-duty police officer.

The police then announced that Louis Wright had confessed to the crime even though his interview was not recorded and Louis Wright did not even sign the confession.

Louis Wright was sentenced to 25 to 50 years in prison and, troubled by repeated cross-examination, pleaded guilty without the opportunity to appeal the charges and is now 65 years old.

Louis Wright is entitled to $1.75 million in compensation under US law and $50,000 per year in compensation.
