Meet Reva Gudi, the UK’s Hindu Conservative candidate inspired by the Bhagavad Gita – vopbuzz


Doctor Reva Gudi He is one of the few British Indians contesting the UK elections on July 4. Since Rishi Sunak has always been outspoken about his Hindu faith, his party’s Reva Gudi says his inspiration is the Bhagavad Gita. The Conservative candidate from Feltham and Heston says he believes in the power of inclusivity. His faith and ‘sanskar’ have been a guiding force throughout his life, he said in a campaign video. “The principle of dharma (truth), seva (service), ahimsa (non-violence) is an integral part of my approach to politics,” he said.

  2. Dr Gudi was born in Barnet, North London. He attended primary school in Colindale before his family returned to India.
  3. He has been living in Hillingdon with his wife, mother-in-law and children since 2016.
  4. Reva said that her entire professional life as a doctor and school principal has been about public service and that she believes that she can make a tangible difference in society if she becomes a member of parliament.

  6. “I will be tough on crime, I will tackle the causes and I will also work with a range of agencies and organisations to find meaningful solutions. I will fight for resources for Feltham and Heston,” he said in his campaign speech.

Dr. Reva Gudi is a Hindu and finds the Gita to be a source of inspiration. “Politics is an unpredictable place with many ups and downs, where I deal with a variety of people and situations, often all at once. And I have found that the Bhagwad Gita’s message of dropping the ego — detachment — and service without any desire for the fruits of action has helped me navigate this journey and has often made it very enjoyable,” she said.
“As a Hindu woman, I sometimes face unique challenges. These include overcoming stereotypes and ensuring my voice is heard in a space that is largely dominated by men,” she said.
