Israeli lawmakers accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of being exiled to Miami after alleged assault on his father. The charges made by Labour MK Namarajmi during the Knesset Finance Panel have raised questions about the government’s decision to continue Netanyahu’s extended stay in the US.

Lazimi questioned the legitimacy of maintaining Yair Netanyahu’s security budget, which amounts to 2.5 million shekels per year. She suggests that the ongoing allocation of public funds is linked to his alleged attack on the Prime Minister, and funded his stay in Miami for “secing the symbolism of national authorities.” They asked if funds were being used to supply them.

However, Netanyahu’s Likud party quickly rejected the accusation as “an absolute, abominable lie,” threatening legal action, calling it an attempt to defame. The party condemned the claims as part of what they described as a continuing degradation of discourse by the political left.

During the same panel discussion, Rajimi asked about the funds of the Prime Minister’s wife, Sarah Netanyahu, as well as the source of public funds used for her trip, and about her two-month stay abroad.

Yair Netanyahu’s departure from Israel in 2023 came amid significant political unrest, including the withdrawn shooting of former Defence Minister Joab Garant. Netanyahu, originally reportedly resident in Puerto Rico, later moved to the monopoly compound in Hallandale Beach, near Miami.

His legal representatives argued that his stay abroad was the result of ongoing “persecution,” and that they made it impossible for him to lead “normative life” in Israel. It is claiming.

Netanyahu’s lawyers reiterated that the allegations against him were unfounded and that his stay in the US was rooted in personal and political agendas. As the legal battle continues, it is clear that the accusations against Netanyahu are part of the broader political and public debate surrounding the Netanyahu family’s actions and their funds.
