Bengaluru: In the Indian state of Karnataka, a fire broke out after an explosion in a firecracker shop, in which 12 people died due to severe burns.

According to Indian media, this shop was owned by a person named Naveen and sold fireworks. After the explosion, the fire spread rapidly and no one could get out of the shop.

The fire engulfed two vehicles parked outside the shop. Both vehicles were burnt to ashes. The explosion occurred when fireworks were being transported from a truck to the shop.

Eyewitnesses say that after the explosion, the fire started in the first truck, which immediately entered the shop and the firecrackers there started exploding, which further ignited the fire.

5 people died of severe burns in the shop, while 8 died in the hospital due to their injuries. The police formed an inquiry committee to investigate the incident.
