Grozny: Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has said that his forces are ready to crush the insurgency of the Wagner group.

He said this in a statement released on his Telegram post. He called the behavior of Wagner Group head Yevgeny Prigozhin a “stab in the back” and asked the Russian soldiers to give a strong response to any action by Wagner.

Foreign news agencies Reuters reports “We are ready to put down Yevgeny Prigozhin’s rebellion and use the harshest measures if necessary,” he said.

The Chechen president said that Chechen units are successfully advancing towards the tension zones and will work together to defend the Russian state.

It should be noted that Ramzan Kadyrov is a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who commands large military forces in Chechnya.

In Russia, a private army known as the Wagner Group has rebelled against President Putin and has reportedly seized facilities, including military headquarters, in the Rostov region. In response, the Moscow government has ordered the arrest of Yevgeny Prigozhin, head of the Wagner group, on charges of sedition.
