A policeman in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh who allegedly rained shoes on an inebriated citizen has been suspended with immediate effect.
According to NDTV, this incident took place in Hardoi, 100 km away from Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. In one video, a plainclothes policeman can be seen raining shoes on a citizen.
The policeman who kicked the citizen, identified as Dinesh, has been suspended immediately for kicking 38 times in four minutes.
According to the police, the victim was drunk and harassing people at a local shop.
In this regard, Additional Superintendent of Police West Durgesh Kumar Singh said that the police have taken notice of the viral video. The police constable had gone to the market in plain clothes. He saw a drunken man there who was abusing people.’
He said that the drunk person also misbehaved with the policeman after which a fight broke out between the two. The policeman has been suspended with immediate effect.’
