In the Indian state of Uttarakhand, Haldwani, the police have registered a case against five people for the murder of a businessman and arrested a spyre. While raids are being conducted to arrest four more persons including the girlfriend of the victim.
According to newspaper Hindustan Times, the body of a businessman named Ankit Chauhan was found in the car with snake bite marks on it.
Police claim that Mahi Arya, his girlfriend, hired a spy to kill the 30-year-old businessman.
Police have arrested Spire, who hails from Uttar Pradesh, while the search is on for Mahi Arya, his friend and two employees.
According to reports, Ankit Chauhan was found dead in his car on July 15.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Nainital Pankaj Bhatt, ‘The post-mortem report revealed that Ankit Chauhan died due to snake venom.’
The police claim that ‘our investigation has led us to a suspect named Ramesh from Uttar Pradesh.’
Before the post-mortem, the police believed that Ankit Chauhan’s death was an accident, but after further investigation, it was found that a cobra snake was released on the businessman.
According to Indian media, Ankit Chauhan was bitten twice on the leg by a poisonous cobra.
The police had formed four teams to solve the case after it came to light that Mahi Arya was in touch with Spere.
During investigation, Spire named Ramesh told the police that the deceased Ankit Chauhan used to consume intoxicating drinks and also tortured Mahi Arya due to which the woman planned the murder.
