Takaram Bhagoji Gyakar from Pune district of Maharashtra cultivated tomatoes and when his crop was ready, tomatoes were not available.

He sold 13,000 crates of tomatoes for around two crore Indian rupees.
Takaram owns 18 acres of agricultural land, out of which he cultivated 12 acres of tomatoes with the help of his son Ishwar Gayakar and daughter-in-law Sonali.
The members of the farming family say that before planting tomatoes, they got all the information about good fertilizers and other medicines and cultivated tomatoes by following the advice of experts.
According to the family, ‘our hard work paid off in a good harvest.’
As the demand for tomatoes in the country is very high at this time, he made a profit of 2100 Indian rupees per crate and sold 900 crates in one day in Narayangani on Friday and returned home after a few hours with 18 More than lakhs of rupees had arrived.
In the next few days, he sold a crate for Rs 1,000 to 2,500.
In this way, a few other farmers have also come up in Junar, Pune, who have become millionaires by selling tomatoes.
In this region of India, tomatoes worth Rs 80 crore have been sold in just one month, which has also provided employment opportunities to more than 100 women.
Regarding his crop, Takaram says that his daughter-in-law Sonali, apart from helping in sowing, also did the harvesting and packing, while all the sales related matters were done by his son Ishwar.
According to him, ‘All of us have got the reward of three months of hard work in a very good form, which we are very happy about.’
The Narayangjani-based Agricultural Produce Market Committee says that tomatoes were sold at the highest price ever and the price of a crate (20 kg) went up to Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,000 and the price per kg went up to Rs 125 to Rs 140.
The series of becoming millionaires due to tomatoes was not limited to Maharashtra only, but the value of a farming family from Karnataka also shone brightly and he too earned Rs 80 lakh in a day by selling 2000 thousand crates of tomatoes.
