A man in India swallowed a woman’s gold earrings for fear of being caught.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Jaye Terke, “The accused has been identified as Mohammad Nasir, who scratched the earrings of a woman named Phoolan Devi when she was walking home after attending a funeral.”

Phoolan Devi told the police after the incident that when she reached in front of her house, a man on a motorcycle stopped her, instead of answering questions, he scratched her earrings, grabbed her handbag and ran away.

Phoolan Devi said that her relatives were nearby and they chased the accused after the incident.

‘We caught him but he immediately put the earrings in his mouth and started chewing, we tried to get them out but he swallowed them.’

The police were then called and the police shifted both the accused and Phoolan Devi to the hospital as both the woman’s ears were injured due to the pulling of the earrings.
