HomeWorld NewsSubmarine Titan 'exploded', all five passengers confirmed dead

A submarine carrying five passengers to the deep sea to view the wreck of the Titanic has been destroyed by an ‘explosion’ and its pieces have been found in the sea.
The Reuters news agency reported this with reference to the US Coast Guard.
After five days of continuous search, all five passengers of the Titan submarine were declared dead on Thursday. Among them were two British father and son of Pakistani origin.
U.S. Coast Guard Rear Admiral John Mager told reporters that a robotic diving vehicle sent from a Canadian ship had located the wreckage of the submarine Titan 1600 feet above the Titanic in a remote corner of the North Atlantic on Thursday morning. .
Five large pieces of the 22-foot Titan were recovered from the wreckage, Coast Guard officials said.
These pieces include the stern section of the submarine and two parts of the pressure hull. Coast Guard officials have not said whether human remains have been spotted.
The Titan, operated by the US company Oceangate Expeditions, went missing after losing contact with its rescue ship on the surface about an hour and 45 minutes early on Sunday morning.
However, it took the submarine two hours to reach the wreck of the Titanic.

Rear Admiral John Mager said the wreckage suggested it was from an exploding submarine.
Before the Coast Guard press conference, Oceangate released a statement saying that none of the five people aboard the Titan survived. Company founder and chief executive officer Stockton Rush, who was piloting the Titan, was also among those killed.
The other four were British billionaire and adventurer Hamish Harding, 58, Pakistani businessman Prince Dawood, 48, and his 19-year-old son Sulaiman, and French marine photographer Paul Henry, 77.
Paul Henry is considered an expert on Titanic and has visited the wreck of the historic ship dozens of times.
Earlier on Thursday, a US Navy spokesman said that a specialized system capable of extracting other heavy objects such as submarines is being sent undersea to assist in rescue missions.
There was a fear that the supply of oxygen in the submarine would run out, but officials participating in the rescue operation said that efforts to rescue all five people in the submarine would continue.

Daoud Family Announcement and Message

The Dawood family said in a statement late on Thursday that ‘We are deeply saddened to announce the death of Prince and Sulaiman.’
A tweet by the Dawood Foundation said, “Please continue to pray for our family and those who have passed away during this difficult time.”

In their statement, the Dawood family thanked those who expressed their sympathy from all over the world.
