US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken will meet with China’s top diplomat and possibly the Chinese president on Monday.

The two leaders expressed a desire to strengthen ties and agreed to visit Washington to continue talks, although no date was announced.

Anthony Blanken will meet China’s top diplomat Wang Yi on Monday, but all eyes are on whether he will also meet Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Although both sides have said that Sunday’s talks were constructive, they appear to have agreed to continue talks with a final meeting in Washington and make it easier for their citizens to visit each other’s countries. So they could agree on the steps.

After the dinner, both US and Chinese officials stressed the desire for stable relations, but China also made clear that Taiwan was the most important issue and potentially dangerous.
