A businessman has been arrested for allegedly harassing a YouTuber from the Netherlands during a vlog at Chor Bazar in Bangalore, India.
According to NDTV, the businessman who abused a foreigner in Chor Bazar two months ago was arrested by the Bangalore police on Monday.
The Dutch YouTuber named Pedro Motta, who has been roaming around India, is the victim of abuse. He was abused by a local businessman near a chickpeat in Bangalore.
On Sunday, a user on the social networking site Twitter, uploaded a video of Pedro Motta and photos of the businessman abusing him, demanding action from the police.
Bangalore police confirmed in their tweet on Monday that the businessman who abused the YouTuber has been arrested.
“Action has been taken in this matter and the person concerned has been arrested,” Bangalore police said. Strict action will be taken against him. Such behavior from foreign tourists will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
In the video, it can be seen that the YouTuber is making a vlog while smiling when a person approaches him and objects to making the video and then forcibly grabs his hand. In the video, the YouTuber can also be seen freeing his hand. After that he frees his hand and quickly runs away from the place.
According to Karnataka Police sources, the incident took place two months ago and the YouTuber has left India.
The arrested businessman is Nawab Hayat Sharif, against whom a case has been registered under Section 92 of the Karnataka Police Act.
Earlier in December last year, a YouTuber from South Korea was harassed by two people on the streets of Mumbai during a live stream. The video of the incident went viral and the Mumbai Police arrested the two involved.
