In a strange case in the UK, a dog and its owner were diagnosed with kidney cancer just months apart.
According to the British news agency Independent, the owner of the dog, Simon O’Brien, first learned that his dog was suffering from cancer, but after some time, he too became a victim of cancer.
Scans showed the dog and its owner had similar symptoms, such as extreme fatigue and thirst, before the life-threatening kidney tumor was discovered.
However, Simon O’Brien learned that his cancer was gone when he had a kidney removed earlier this year following a surgery that could have been life-threatening for his pet Labrador. Due to which now the dog does not have much time to live.
“If you’re not an animal lover, you might not understand, but if you love animals, you’ll understand that this is my best friend and more than a dog to us, it’s our family,” he said. . Having two cancer patients in the family at the same time is very scary.
The O’Brien family started noticing their dog Bella’s illness in May this year when she started losing weight, sleeping more and drinking more water.
He says, ‘Before this, it was a family dog, always happy and loved to play with children.
The veterinarian diagnosed Bella with kidney cancer and informed the O’Brien family that she only had a short time to live.

In October last year, the dog’s owner, Simon O’Brien, began to experience fatigue while training for a marathon. After getting the test done, it came to know that his right kidney is suffering from cancer.
“It was a difficult thing to tell the kids about, but we decided we would all face it together,” Simon said. I used to think, oh my god, I can’t believe that my poor dog and I both have cancer.
Now after the surgery, Simone is fine, but her dog has terminal cancer, but she has outlived her life expectancy.
Simon O’Brien said: ‘She has outlived her term. We take her to the beach because she loves the waves and she forgets everything for five to 10 minutes.’
