RIYADH: Two new crescent moons have been installed in the minarets of Bab Malik Abdul Aziz in Masjid al-Haram in Saudi Arabia.

According to Urdu News, the head of the Haramin Sharif administration in Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Sudis, says that 2 new crescents were installed in the minarets of Bab Malik Abdul Aziz in the Haram Mosque.

According to the website of the Haramin Sharif administration, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sadis said that this work has been done with the support of the construction agency under the Ministry of Finance.

He said that the administration of Haram Sharifeen has always tried to highlight the architectural features of Islamic architecture, especially Masjid al-Haram.

Secretary Chief Administration Engineer Muhammad Al Waqdani said that the work of installing the crescent in the minarets of Bab Malik Abdul Aziz has been completed. The crescents installed in both minarets are a visible symbol of Islamic architecture in general and Masjid al-Haram in particular.

He said that the crescents are installed on top of the minarets, the length of both the minarets is more than 130 meters.

Both crescents of the minarets are approximately 9 meters high, each crescent stands 2 meters tall and is made of carbon fiber.

It has high shock resistance, is decorated with gold glass while the internal structure uses steel.

Secretary Chief Administration says that formal approval was taken for the program of installation of crescent on top of the minarets.
