HomeWorld News11 member states oppose Ukraine's accession to NATO

11 NATO member states have opposed Ukraine’s NATO membership, which has been confirmed by the Office of the President of Ukraine.

According to foreign media, the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine Igor Zhukova has said that 11 of the 31 NATO member countries are against Ukraine’s membership in NATO and have not supported Ukraine’s request.

On his Facebook page, the deputy of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky wrote in a message that Ukraine has received the support of 20 countries in connection with its application for membership in NATO. He issued this message after the signing of a document between Ukrainian President Zelensky and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, in which Canada announced its support for Ukraine’s accession to NATO.

This news has come to light when US ambassador to NATO, Julian Smith, has said that Ukraine’s accession to NATO is very unlikely. NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg has also recently emphasized that Ukraine cannot join NATO as long as the war against Russia continues.

It should be noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin has already warned that Ukraine’s accession to NATO is a red line for Moscow.
