New York: Animal rescue volunteers helped police remove a 5,000-pound (2,200-kilogram) cement slab to save a baby trapped in a storm drain. Thus, after several hours of struggle, the child was taken out.

He had woken up 30 feet down in the rain gutter after hearing the kitten’s voice

A kitten was heard calling from a storm drain near Port Jefferson Station in New York. It was found to be at a depth of 30 feet and there was a large sheet of cement on top that had to be removed.

Special jacks, tools and hydraulic machines were ordered for this. According to the ‘Strunk Island Animal Rescue League’, the unusually large and rock-heavy slab of cement could not be removed by hand. That is why a special machine Jazz of Life was also ordered.

When the trapped kitten was pulled out, it was fine but hungry. Now he was immediately taken to a rescue center where he will now be offered for adoption.
