Beijing: The trend of marriage in China has decreased, which has been reflected in the decline in population. Now the administration of a Chinese city has announced that a girl up to the age of 25 will be given 1000 yuan in marriage.

China’s population decline has turned into a crisis. For this, the government has made arrangements other than mass marriages. However, Jingshan County has said that newlywed brides who are 25 years old or younger will be given a reward of US$137. Its aim is to encourage young people to marry, especially at an age when they can have more children. This is the reason why special consideration has been given to age.

The Jingshan administration has also said that child care, education and other stages will also be supported by subsidies and government aid.

It should be noted that China’s average birth rate has been declining since 1986, which was reduced to 6.8 million in 2022. The reason is that women are not getting married and the birth rate is decreasing. Another reason is that parents have severe shortage of adequate resources to raise and educate their children.
