Augusta: A lobster caught in the US state of Maine is attracting attention online because of some unusual features.

According to the American media, the color of this lobster caught in Maine is half red and half blue, and not only in terms of color, but also in terms of gender, it is half male and half female.

Jacob Knowles told local media representatives about this amazing discovery, saying that a friend of his brought this lobster to him and he named it after the famous American singer and musician David Bowie’s bisexual personality and contrasting eye colors. This lobster was named Bowie.

“I was surprised to find such a lobster,” Knowles said. This is an extremely rare find.

Only 1 in 50 million lobsters have dual sex and coloration, said Jordan Baker, a biologist at the New England Aquarium.

Jordan added that these contrasting lobster characteristics are embryo mutations or the result of changes in genetic development. She added that she is hoping Bowie will be donated to an aquarium that already houses several lobsters of unusual colors.
