HomeTechnologyTrending Topics feature may come on Threads app.

Meta’s Threads platform, standing as a rival to X, may get a trending topics section. The news broke when an app developer posted screenshots of the feature, which were originally shared by a Meta employee.

According to the app developer, William Max, in a post, “To be clear: I am not a ‘leaker’ or anything like that.” “I follow several engineers and employees who work at Meta, and one of them accidentally posted a screenshot that was meant to be private. Luckily for us, I saw it at the right time. I will not reveal who posted the screenshot for obvious reasons.

@eddygraphic1 commented below the post, “Is this a concept or an actual screenshot?” To which employee @willianmax replied, “It’s real. An employee just posted it by accident. “

In the screenshot images posted, the feature appears to list trending topics according to the number of threads received, which is similar to X, the feature formerly present on Twitter. However, it is not necessary to rank the topics from most popular to least. This feature was displayed near the Search tab.

While the trending topics section has been an important feature for every social media platform, it has become quite problematic in the past. Facebook was forced to shut down the feature in 2018 after controversy over the feature repeatedly pushing conspiracy theories false news, X has also had to deal with spam bots dominating the section with specific agendas.
