Beijing: Chinese company TCL has always been a pioneer in making unconventional smartphones and tablets and now it has introduced a smartphone with a new paper display technology that does not emit blue light that affects eyesight.

This technology is called NXT paper which displays all colors well like a normal smartphone which can also be called as electric paper. TCL has been working on paper display technology for a long time and has now introduced two smartphones with improved displays.

Three years ago, the same company introduced an 8-inch tablet with zero blue light emission. On the one hand, it does not cause eye pain or medical damage, on the other hand, all the colors can be seen in it with their brightness. Thus displaying these colors earlier was not possible with any e-ink technology.

Engineers at TCL explain that they have modified the blue light emission from LEDs in such a way that it does not affect vision in any way. It’s estimated to reduce blue light emissions by 61 percent without affecting screen quality.

Then viewing in any angle and light does not affect the screen display, for which a layer of nano-size is also laid on the paper-like display. According to the company, authorized bodies have certified their technology as visually friendly.

Other specifications of the smartphone include a 6.6-inch screen, 8 MP selfie camera, 720 x 1,612 resolution display, 6 GB RAM, octa-core processor, 256 GB storage, and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Includes modern standards. The second model is slightly better and has a bigger display.

It is expected to be released in October 2023 and the price could be around $315.
