Apple said Tuesday it will host its fall event on Sept. 12, which analysts say will set the stage for the unveiling of a new series of iPhones and smartwatches.
As per the invitation of the world’s most valuable company, the event will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater at its Cupertino, California headquarters.
Wall Street analysts have said Apple will try to woo buyers with a host of new features for its flagship device, as the launch comes against the backdrop of a slump in smartphone demand globally.
Apple reported a 2.4% decline in iPhone sales in its fiscal third quarter — a rare decline for the product that has driven the company’s growth for years.
According to TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the most expensive version of the new generation iPhone will feature a periscope camera that could improve the zoom capability by 5 times or more.
According to a Bloomberg News report, the expected Watch lineup could feature a new processor based on Apple’s A15 Bionic chip, which has already been used in previous iPhone models, and will boost performance.
