HomeSportsZakir Khan's PCB tenure ends once again

Zakir Khan retired from the Pakistan Cricket Board in April at the age of 60. At that time he was the director of international cricket. They were immediately recalled on shorter contracts. Whenever a new board chairman came, Zakir was allowed to continue working because of his proximity to a former captain.

A few months ago, he was given a contract as a consultant for special projects. This is a department where no work is done and instead of firing officers, they are transferred.

Zakir Khan was appointed as the head of the National Cricket Academy a few months ago, but due to his old age the officials were not satisfied with his work.

Sources have revealed that he has exchanged bitter words with top officials in recent days. The board took action and it was decided to remove Zakir Khan immediately. Sources further said that his contract was till November, but he was sent a message saying that the board was not satisfied with his work, so there was no need to come to the office now.

Director of domestic cricket Nadeem Khan has been given additional charge of the academy in place of Zakir Khan. In this regard, PCB spokesperson confirmed the termination of Zakir Khan’s contract and appointment of Nadeem Khan to the academy. However, he refrained from commenting further on the matter.

Sources have revealed that recently changes have been made in some posts in the National Cricket Academy also.
