Pakistan has made a winning start in the Women’s Emerging T20 Asia Cup and defeated Nepal by 9 runs in the first match.

In the Women’s Emerging T20 Asia Cup being played in Hong Kong, Pakistan has made a winning start to its campaign and defeated Nepal by 9 runs in the first match.

Batting first, Pakistan set a target of 88 runs to the rival team, but Nepal team could not chase even this low target and could score only 78 runs for 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

For Pakistan, Tuba Hasan and Syeda Aroub took two wickets each.

The Green Shirts will play their second match tomorrow (Thursday) against the hosts Hong Kong while the biggest match of the event will be the Pakistan vs India clash on Saturday 17th June.

8 teams are participating in the event which are divided into two groups. Each team will play three group matches and the top two teams from both groups will qualify for the semi-finals. The final of the event will be played on June 21.

Other Group I teams include Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Malaysia and UAE.

National team captain Fatima Sana said before the start of the event that the team has worked hard for the tournament. Each player knows their role, what to do and team members are motivated to perform at their best.
