Max Verstappen says he is confident in the changes that Red Bull has made to its 2025 car.

Verstappen dominated the first half of last season before McLaren closed the gap, with Randorris emerging as a powerful challenger. Despite a late-season surge in his rivals, Dutchman held up to secure his fourth championship.

“The development direction we chose was a promise, but it didn’t work as expected,” Verstappen said. “We had to change a few things. We’re sure it’s in the right direction, but let’s see how much we can extract.”

The new RB21 debuted at the filming date test held in Bahrain on Tuesday, and will debut before the official preseason test begins on Wednesday. Red Bull has released images of the car, but major aerodynamic details remain hidden.

This will be the first season of Red Bull without legendary designer Adrian Newey joining Aston Martin on March 3rd. However, Verstappen continues to focus. “I don’t think we should stick to that. Adrian is no longer here, but we have a strong team and that’s a group effort.”

New Zealand’s Liam Lawson replaces Sergio Perez with Verstappen’s teammate, while Red Bull aims to regain the constructor title. “The goal is clear,” Lawson said. “If you’re fighting for victory and championships, I’m at work.”

If Verstappen wins the title again, he will be the second driver in Formula 1 history to secure five consecutive championships after Michael Schumacher.
