London:

Liverpool have rejected Saudi Arabia’s blockbuster £150 million ($190 million) offer for Mohamed Salah from Al-Ittihad, according to reports on Friday.

Egypt star Salah has been linked with a move to the Gulf state for several weeks and is believed to have been made a verbal offer to Liverpool by Al-Ittihad on Friday.

The bid is understood to have been for £100 million upfront and a further £50 million bid was made.

However, the Premier League club are determined to uphold the advice and plan to reject all offers regardless of the size of the fee.

Salah, who joined Liverpool from Italian side Roma in 2017, signed a new three-year contract with the Reds last year.

His agent publicly ruled out a switch to Saudi Arabia during the close-season, with several Premier League stars opting to accept lucrative offers from the Gulf state.

The 31-year-old scored 138 goals in 221 appearances during six seasons at Anfield, and won the Premier League Golden Boot on three occasions.

Even if Liverpool have considered the prospect of life without advice, they will have little time left to find a replacement with the bid coming just before Friday’s 2200 GMT transfer deadline.

Asked on Friday about Salah’s future, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp told reporters: “The situation is exactly the same. There is no doubt about it.”

“We can’t sell advice. It is what it is. Nothing more to say.”

Reds get merciful Europa draw

Liverpool received a draw of sorts for this season’s Europa League group stage on Friday, while their Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion can hope to meet European giants Ajax and Marseille in their first foray into continental competition.

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds will play Austria’s LASK, Belgium’s Union Saint-Gillois and French Cup holders Toulouse in Group E.
