Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen has termed Pakistan as a ‘threat’ in the upcoming ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023.

Pietersen took to his social media platform ‘X’ and named possible contenders for the World Cup, which included Pakistan, along with the reasons.

Pakistan, known for its unpredictable gameplay, was termed by Pietersen as an eternal threat. Their versatility on the field makes them a team that can never be underestimated and is always capable of pulling off an upset.

Pietersen also described South Africa as a strong contender after the recent ODI series win over Australia. He also emphasized the important contribution of batsman Heinrich Klaasen in the strength of the team.

Focusing on the Indian cricket team, Pietersen highlighted that after their recent success in the 2023 Asia Cup, they remain favorites especially on their home ground.

The 43-year-old placed England slightly below India in terms of favorites for the World Cup, emphasizing the depth of the English team.

Lastly, Pietersen acknowledged Australia as a team that will definitely be title contenders as they are a big force.
