According to ARY News, the legendary Javed Miandad, the former captain of the Pakistan cricket team and who brought One Cricket to the peak of popularity with his sixes, has turned 66 years old. His birthday is being celebrated today.

Pakistan Cricket Board has congratulated Javed Miandad on his 66th birthday while his contemporary former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar also wished Miandad on his birthday.

His last-ball six in the Australia-Pakistan Cup final at Sharjah in April 1986 is still etched in people’s minds, thanks to this six, Pakistan won the final of an ODI tournament for the first time.

When Pakistan became the ODI world champion in 1992, it also included the efforts of Javed Miandad, who scored more than 400 runs with five half-centuries in the tournament and became the world’s most successful player after the late New Zealand captain Martin Crowe. He was the second highest run-scorer in the cup.

Many world honors of Javed Miandad are such that no player has been able to break till date. He holds the distinction of being the youngest to score the first Test double century, the most consecutive fifties (9 fifties).

Legendary Miandad scored 8832 runs during his career and 7381 runs in ODI cricket.
