India scored the top spot in Group A by dominating New Zealand in the final group match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai on Sunday.
In Group B, South Africa won the final league match in Karachi on Saturday in England, scoring five points in three matches. This victory led them to the top of Group B and edging Australia. Australia took second place with four points in the group rankings.
India’s victory means they will face Australia in their first semi-finals, but New Zealand, who has placed second in Group A, will face South Africa in their second semi-finals on March 5th at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
If India is able to beat Australia, the final will be held in Dubai as India chose to play all matches in the UAE and refused to travel to Pakistan. As a result, the second semi-final winner will need to travel to Dubai for a showpiece match.
However, if Australia advances to the final, the match will be set for March 9th, celebrating Pakistan’s first final from home in nearly 30 years.
