Birmingham: English cricketer Moeen Ali has been fined for violating the ICC Code of Conduct.

England cricket team’s all-rounder Moeen Ali has been fined 25% of the match fee while he has also been given one demerit point.

Moeen Ali violated ICC code level one, he sprayed his hand to dry it.

The incident took place during the 89th over of Australia’s first innings in the match at Edgbaston when Moeen was seen spraying his hand on the boundary line while fielding.

Moeen Ali later admitted his guilt and accepted the umpire’s decision.

Moeen Ali breached Article 2.20 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which deals with conduct unbecoming the conduct of the game.

A demerit point has been added to Moeen Ali’s disciplinary record for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct. This was his first offense in the last 24 months.
