Rana Sanaula, Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif’s political and public relations advisor, said the government will focus on Pakistan’s humiliating defeat at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and early exits from the tournament.

In a conversation with the private television channel, Rana Sanaullah, senior leader of Pakistan’s Muslim league Nawaz (PML-N), explained that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will personally deal with the national team performance. He will raise issues in the Cabinet and Congress regarding cricket-related issues.

Rana Sanaura also said that Pakistan’s Cricket Committee (PCB) is an independent body and can make its own decisions, but he would urge Prime Minister Shebaz to raise the issue in the Cabinet and Parliament. He further stated that the issue is not limited to the appointment of the chairman.

When asked about the salary of PCB officials, Rana Sanaullah emphasized that the high-ranking officials are paid up to Rs 5 million per month, confirmed by the media.

He pointed out that many officials are not aware of their responsibility and are being paid without fulfilling their duties.

Regarding the perks and privileges of PCB officials, Rana Sanaullah expressed surprise and said that he might wonder whether these individuals belong to facilities in Pakistan or to developed countries.

He said these issues within the PCB have been ongoing for years, with individuals taking charge of power and then they are willing to do what they are doing. This has led to the current deterioration of Pakistan’s Cricket Committee.

It is important to note that Pakistan was holding its first ICC event in 29 years, but the national team was eliminated in just four days of the tournament.

Green Shirt faced a defeat against New Zealand and traditional rival India.

However, Pakistan was scheduled to play the final match of the tournament against Bangladesh today, but was abandoned due to bad weather.
