India continues to insist on dominance in the ICC ODI rankings, and the century, which won Virat Kohli’s match against Pakistan, brought him back to the top five in Batts’ ICC men’s player rankings.
Kohli’s 51st ODI century at ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was a clash in Dubai on Sunday, which earned him the top five locations and rose to fifth in the latest ranking update. His knock helped India secure a key victory over their arch rivals and strengthen their batting ranking base.
With Kohli’s rise, India has three batters in the top five. Shubman Gill holds his position at the top, with Captain Rohit Sharma remaining third. Gill extended the lead with 47 rating points from first place, but Pakistan’s Babar Azam remains second despite struggling with his form in the tournament.
Several Pakistani players have seen the decline in the latest ICC ODI rankings following their overwhelming performance in recent matches.
After being initially excluded, Fakhar Zaman returned to the tournament during the Tri-Nation ODI series, dropped third to 17th with 621 rating points.
Pakistan’s whiteball captain Mohammadriz One also fell, moving from 16th to 20th with 616 points. Rizwan’s performance, including three runs against New Zealand and 46 runs against India, contributed to this drop.
Imam ul Haq remained in 32nd place with 582 rating points despite scoring only 10 runs in an ODI comeback with India in Dubai.
Saim Ayub, who has been on the sidelines since being injured in the South African Test Series, slipped eighth to 35th with a 572 rating point.
Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi has experienced a significant decline following a decline in his performance in the ongoing tournament. He fell to five places and dropped from fourth to ninth with a rating of 619.
Right-handed pacer Harris Rauf also declined, slipping sixth to 22nd with 553 points. Meanwhile, Naseem Shah moved positively, moving two spots up to 42nd place with a 491 rating point.
