HomeSportsAjmal has sought time to mold Pakistan's spin attack

Pakistan’s newly appointed spin bowling coach Saeed Ajmal has expressed his commitment to revamping the national team’s spin attack, but stressed that the process will require time and dedication.

Ajmal’s first assignment in this role includes the Test series against Australia from 14 December 2023 to 7 January 2024 and the T20 series against New Zealand from 12 to 21 January 2024.

“I will try to live up to the expectations of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) by working hard and using all my experience. But it will be a time-consuming process,” Saeed Ajmal said in an interview.

“Spinners are less likely to be successful in Australian conditions,” he said.

The 46-year-old also expressed his support for the two spinners selected for the upcoming Australia tour, citing their impressive performances in domestic cricket.

He concluded, “Noman Ali and Abrar Ahmed have been selected for the Australia tour and have been performing well in the domestic circuit.”
