Former Indian players have slammed the team for India’s worst loss in the ICC World Test Championship final against Australia.
According to the French news agency AFP, former players including Sunil Gavaskar slammed the Indian batsmen on Sunday for their disappointing performance in the World Test Championship against Australia.
444 In response to the run target, India started the fifth day’s play with 164 for three. When India started the day, Virat Kohli was at the crease but the entire team was bundled out for 234 runs in the first session.
Criticizing the team, former Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar says, ‘The batting faltered today. What we saw today was horrible.
He added that ‘India could not play a single session with this batting line-up. I mean, what happened?’
This is India’s second consecutive defeat in the World Test Championship final.
On the other hand, the Indian team has not managed to win any ICC event since 2013.
On India’s defeat, former cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrikar wrote in his tweet that ‘One technical observation I have made about most of the Indian batters is that they like to come on the front foot, even the short ball. Want to play on the front foot. These balls are played by Steve Smith, Kane Williamson and Joe Root at back foot. Smith’s average is 60, Williamson’s 54 is 84, Root’s 50 is 24.

Former great batsman Sachin Tendulkar raised a question mark for not feeding off-spinner Ravi Ashwin in the team.

He wrote in his tweet that ‘Steve Smith and Travis Head laid a good foundation on the first day which turned the tide of the match in their favour. India needed to score big in the first innings to stay in the match but they couldn’t. There were some good moments for Team India but I cannot understand why Ravi Ashwin, who is currently the number one Test bowler in the world, is out of the playing XI.’
Sachin Tendulkar adds, ‘Like I said before the match, good spinners don’t need turning tracks all the time, they dodge the ball through air friction and the surface of the pitch. And don’t forget that five of Australia’s first eight batsmen were left-handed.’
Talking to Indian team coach Rahul Dravid on TV, former skipper Sourav Ganguly raised the point about the poor average of India’s first six batsmen.

Dravid admitted that his team did not bat to a high standard.
Rahul Dravid says, ‘They (batters) will agree that it was not up to their standards. But these are the same batsmen who have won two Test series in Australia and Test matches in England.’
“We are working on it,” he added. Some of the wickets (pitches) have been quite challenging in this Test Championship, but it was a good wicket so the average dropped, but we believe that if we support our bowlers by scoring runs, they will give us a Test. can win matches.’
