Australia beat India by 209 runs in the final of the World Test Championship. Chasing the target of 444 runs set by Australia, the Indian team was bowled out for 234 runs.
Virat Kohli 49, Ajinkya Rahane 46 and captain Rohit Sharma scored 43 runs in the second innings for India.
While bowling in the second innings, Nathan Lyne took 4, Scott Boland 3 and Mitchell Starc 2 for Kangaroos.
Australia declared their second innings eight wickets down at The Oval on Saturday, leaving India with a target of 444 after a 173-run lead from the previous innings. Alex Carey remained unbeaten with 66 runs, while Mitchell Starc was outstanding with 41 runs. For India, Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets and Mohammad Shami and Umesh Yadav took two wickets each.
