Following the recent debate on endorsing skin whitening products, a question came to the fore on Twitter, due to which many people who do not endorse such brands have started speaking out against them.
Responding to a question raised by a journalist, actress Mahira Khan tweeted, “Deny since I was a VJ – I have never endorsed a skin whitening product.”

after this, supper star The actor, in his reply to another question, included celebrities who have endorsed skin whitening products in the past but later apologized for their ignorance or lack of knowledge.
Khan pointed out how such celebrities should not be highlighted negatively as currently canceled culture prevents conversations from happening and thus, hinders reform. He said, “No, they should not be used as examples in bad light.” “We are in a hurry to cancel, not negotiate.”

Singer Momina Mustehsan revealed that she too had rejected such offers. “I have always rejected all advertising for whitening products. The amount of melanin in your skin has nothing to do with how beautiful you are. If we all responsibly rejected advertising for whitening, it would The market can change. We have the power to do so. Change the story,” commented Mustehsan positively.

Several other celebrities who felt the same reacted similarly. Actors Sanam Saeed and Hareem Farooq confessed that they have never endorsed such products. Ayesha Omar also wrote, “Me! I have been rejecting offers to endorse various skin whitening products since 12 years. Take a very strong stand against this.”

Bollywood actress Banita Sandhu, who is fair-skinned herself, narrated her experience of signing her first contract with a modeling agency in India. Rashid lauded him for being forthright about such matters from the very beginning of his career. But the fact that celebrities avoid making such demands for fear of being deemed ‘difficult’ is what prevents large-scale change from happening.
