US: I am obsessed with your ice roller tools! Pink balls have changed my life. What inspired you to create this best-selling product?

LB: Many listeners and readers are people who have been with the blog since its inception 12 years ago. With their guidance we are creating products that are efficient, beautiful and most importantly disruptive.

A few years ago, I had major jaw surgery and the main thing that helped with healing and swelling was cold therapy and massage/lymphatic drainage on the face. After going through a lot of ice rollers, I found that there were pain points – they would break or not stay cold long enough. There was a large white space in the category.

From start to finish, it took four years to bring this idea to life as our team and I wanted every detail to be perfect. And so, we created the Rolls Royce of ice rollers and engaged the community in every aspect from color, feel, design to added benefits.

Every innovative product we continue to create is a solution to a problem designed and packaged in pink. And will always involve the community.

US: In your book Get out of the sun., you interviewed several experts. Would you say there was a recurring piece of skincare/beauty advice that stood out to you?

LB: It was interesting to hear/read what worked for different experts, but one thing they all had in common was sun protection. Next I would say vitamin C and regular exfoliation. Everyone agreed. I also noticed that many people shave their faces (Kristin Cavallari is a fan!), they all love the ice on their face and everyone raved about the facial massage.

US: What’s your number? 1 anti-aging beauty tip?

LB: Definitely reducing sun exposure, but it’s a combination of other things as well. For example, I love the ritual of shaving my face, using red light masks and pink balls, testing different hydrating sheet masks, and eating healthy fats.

I think the aging process comes from skin peeling and cracking so I always go to bed like a wet mouse. Ha! Just covered in oils. Almost like dolphin skin. I like to soak before bed. Always use a silk pillowcase to protect the skin.

US: Are there certain beauty products you can’t live without?

LB: This moisturizer will give you the most dewy healthy skin. It is full of nutrients, proteins and antibodies and does something for the skin that I can’t even describe. Very good.
