The team returned home after securing the victory ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Title in the Caribbean. Rohit’s team ended their long wait for the ICC title by beating South Africa by seven runs in a thrilling final at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on Saturday.

Welcome with Dhol and Nagada

The festive atmosphere culminated in a magnificent 3-tiered truffle cake. This delightful creation was designed to honour the team’s achievements and celebrate the pride of Indian cricket, symbolising their well-deserved victory.

Stranded due to hurricane

The Indian team took off from Grantley Adams International Airport on a charter flight on Wednesday. The team members were stranded for three days due to a category four cyclone. Air India has arranged a special charter flight called Air India Champions 24 World Cup (AIC24WC) which departed from the Caribbean at 4:50 am local time and arrived in New Delhi at approximately 6:20 am IST today.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has arranged a charter flight for the Indian team, including support staff, players’ families, board officials and travelling media. The flight was arranged after the team’s departure was delayed due to Cyclone Beryl.
