Late Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput once admitted to being the first choice of filmmakers for blockbuster hits ‘Kabir Singh’, ‘Ram Leela’, ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and others.

Once in an interview with an Indian newspaper, SSR revealed that he lost out on 12 big projects to famous Bollywood filmmakers including Ekta Kapoor, Aditya Chopra, Abhishek Kapoor, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and others.

I was doing many films and all of them are releasing now. i don’t want to name them ‘Kai po che!’ Star remembered. “What happens when I give my word to someone, and he is delaying [not because he wants to, but because of a particular reason] And I understand this, I will not leave. So whether it is the biggest film with the biggest studio or the smallest film, I will not leave another film.

“So unfortunately, I lost 12 films in the last one year because of the two films I was doing that didn’t happen. One film didn’t happen and the other was postponed for a few months. And these are the movies we talk about nowadays. Let’s not go into all that,” he had revealed.

While the late actor refrained from giving any details about those films in the same conversation, reportedly, the two titles he was doing were Shekhar Kapur’s ambitious projects. ‘Water’ and Dinesh Vijan’s 2017 releases ‘Rabta’,

‘Water’Backed by Yash Raj Films, it was never made due to heavy budget requirements, with producers believing Rajput could not pull it off. On the other hand, ‘Rabta’Co-starring Kriti Sanon, was released in 2017 after several delays.

Meanwhile, due to these two films, the projects that Rajput lost his hands include ‘fitoor’ With Abhishek Kapoor who later went to Aditya Roy Kapur, Mohit Suri ‘Half Girlfriend’ Final with Arjun Kapoor ‘Kabir Singh’ Starring Shahid Kapoor ‘Carefree’ with Ranveer Singh ‘Romeo Akbar Walter’ Where John Abraham replaced him.

In addition, the actor was also offered lead roles. ‘Ramlila’ And ‘Bajirao Mastani’ Also in Raja Ratan Singh ‘Padmavat’ by Bhansali, the parts which went to Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.

Significantly, Rajput committed suicide at his Bandra home in Mumbai while living alone during the lockdown. The actor was found hanging in the flat on June 14, 2020.

The case is being investigated by Mumbai Police, Enforcement Directorate, Central Bureau of Investigation and Narcotics Control Bureau from various angles.
