“I didn’t want to settle for any genre. When I got this script I didn’t want to work and I read it and it was the funniest script I have ever read in my life.

“So, I quickly changed my tune and we were on set four months later,” said Lawrence, who also produced the film.

In ‘don’t mind’ Lawrence plays Maddie, an Uber driver who finds herself reckless and at risk of losing her home. She sees an opportunity to turn her life around when she comes across a job listing from a wealthy couple seeking someone to date their introverted son, Percy, and bring him out of his shell before he leaves for college.

The film was inspired by a real-life Craigslist ad from 2013, said director and co-writer Gene Stupnitsky, adding that the character of Maddie was written with Lawrence in mind.

Lawrence’s young co-star, 21-year-old Andrew Feldman, put his Harvard studies on hold to play Percy.

Jennifer Lawrence declined her $2.9 billion film franchise

“Jane called to tell me I got the job and said ‘I’m so sorry, Andrew. You won’t be able to go back to Harvard this semester’. It was the opportunity of a lifetime. I had to. And Harvard, too.” Was like, ‘Yeah, you’ve got to go do it.’ It was a dream come true,” he said.

‘don’t mind’ Will be in theaters globally from mid-June.
