India’s much awaited space mission, chandrayaanIt is the third lunar mission of the Indian Space Research Organization which successfully landed on the Moon on 23 August. Millions of people around the world applauded India’s efforts in creating history, with many taking to Twitter and Instagram to celebrate the momentous moment.
Several Bollywood celebrities took to the public stage to celebrate this impressive achievement. Pakistani singer-turned-actor Farhan Saeed was also impressed by the wonderful feat from the neighboring country. “Congratulations, India, this is definitely a milestone!” He shared on X, “A nation that is truly achieving new milestones one after the other.”

Other Pakistani celebrities like Rabia Butt and Ahmed Ali Butt also felt the need to wish their neighbors on their Instagram stories.
Amitabh Bachchan was also one of many such celebrities, he read a short poem dedicated to the moon landing in his hit game show, Kon Banega Crorepati,
The poem read, “Kal shaam ko jab chand niklega na, toh uss chand ki mitti par humare desh ke kadmon ki chaap hogi. Kal humara Chandrayaan 3, apne Maama ke ghar, yaani ke Chanda maama ke ghar pahuchega,” which roughly translates as, “In the evening, tomorrow, when the moon rises, our country’s footprints will be imprinted on the soil of the moon. Tomorrow, the moon of the stories of our childhood will be within reach to our country.”
The veteran Bollywood actor also later shared his pride in India’s victory, and declared that the country has transcended the third world status and called for referring to it as a first world state.

Anupam Kher, new amsterdam The actor also shared another personal video on Instagram, while Kareena Kapoor called the win a “stellar success”.
Shah Rukh Khan was another fan-favourite who took out time to congratulate the ISRO team for their efforts and hard work and wrote, “Congratulations to all the scientists and engineers, the entire team who have made India so proud.”

Kamal Haasan, however, found it important to acknowledge the journey India has taken to come this far, writing, “From carrying satellite parts on a bicycle to landing on the moon – what a journey it has been! Team ISRO is the pride of the nation. A historic day that will forever be inscribed in the space travel journey of our nation. The day is not far when Indians will step on the moon.

Other celebrities such as Sunny Deol referred to the event as “an important milestone in the history of India’s space exploration”, while Abhishek Bachchan described the occasion as a “memorable moment, an emotion beyond words!”

Hrithik Roshan and Ananya Pandey also jumped on the bandwagon. Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham The star shared an emotional sentiment on Twitter, writing, “My heart swells a little more with pride today as I see my people flying high and giving their best,” while the Gehraiyaan The actor kept it short and sweet and captioned a picture of the spacecraft “India is on the Moon!”
