Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Salman Khan started dating in the late 1990s, but their relationship did not work out and the duo broke up on a bitter note in the early 2000s. Aishwarya remained a mother for a long time after their very public breakup. However, when the rumors against him got out of hand, he told TOI his side of the story at that time. “I stood by him (Salman Khan) during his worst phases and in return I was subjected to his abuse (verbal, physical and emotional), infidelity and insults. So, like any self-respecting woman, I ended my relationship with him,” said Aishwarya.
